About Me

I am Reader (Associate Professor) in Applied International Economics and Development, and the Field Group Chair for Finance, at Cardiff School of Management.

My research has been funded by the Leverhulme Trust, European Social Fund, Welsh European Funding Office, Cardiff Council UK Community Renewal Fund, Research Wales and Hodge Foundation.

My current research interests include Financial Economics, Development Economics, International Finance and Applied Econometrics.

Prior to joining Cardiff School of Management, I was Senior Lecturer at Oxford Brookes Business School. I completed my PhD in Economics at the University of Strathclyde where I was awarded a full scholarship (Postgraduate Research Scholarship Award; International Research Scholarship Award; and Overseas Research Scholarship Award by the Committee of Vice-Chancellors and Principals of the Universities of the United Kingdom) to support my research.

As Director of Studies and/or Supervisor, I have supervised seven PhD students to successful completion. I have acted as an examiner (in both External Examiner and Internal Examiner capacities) various PhD viva voce examinations. I am also serving as the Managing Editor of International Journal of Management, Economics and Social Sciences; and an Associate Editor of Humanities and Social Sciences Communications published by Palgrave Macmillan.
